Lisa G. Samia is an award-winning poet and author who is passionate about Civil War history. Her most recent achievements include being named the National Parks Arts Foundation's Artist in Residence for Gettysburg National Battlefield Park and the National Park Service's Artist in Residence for Manassas National Battlefield Park, both for poetry. Lisa's book "The Nameless and Faceless Women of the Civil War" is about the unrecognized women of the time. Many do not have a name or a face, but they do have a voice here. As we all know, not everyone who lived through the Civil War made it into history. Lisa aspires to tell their tales in a way that has never been seen or heard before through the rhyme and narrative of poetry.
